Activate your creative core with SomaScribe

Hello friends,

I hope I sparked your interest with last week’s email about my new upcoming class, SomaScribe (click here for the lowdown if you didn’t get the email).

If there is any part of you, even just a sliver, that is curious about the online class beginning on Wednesday, January 26th, I’m here to encourage you sign up. The main question I’ve gotten so far is: What in the hell are we actually going to be doing?

Beginning Wednesday, January 26th, you will prepare yourself a quiet space in your home (or anywhere else where you won't be interrupted) and tune into our weekly zoom call.

After a brief check in and timed writing prompt, I'll lead you through a warm-up that will wake up your skin, knock on your bones, find your heartbeat. Each class will have a different theme that will mix anatomy, emotion, and provocative questions. I have so many questions for you. We'll write without thinking, and we won't stop until the timer rings. We won't read what we write immediately. Instead, we'll move back into our bodies. I will guide you through embodiment exercises that will help us find out where these questions live in our bodies. We'll find gestures, movements that express our emotions. We'll dance to music, and also in silence. Finally, we’ll open the circle to share.

Having the screen between us will provide blessings and challenges. The privacy of being alone will allow you to play and be as you are without feeling self-consciouce. You will have all the space you want to develop intimacy with your body, your core, your voice. You can use the tools I offer to relax and unwind. I will do my best to watch you from the other side of the screen, to provide a witness and a container to the group. And, at the end, if you want to communicate, we will listen with open ears. My hope is that you will feel comfortable but also challenged in moments. That’s the way we grow, right?

I am fully aware that you are constantly being bombarded by advertisments vying for your precious time and energy. Perhaps you already feel overcommited, three weeks into 2022. But if there is a shrapnal of interest in this work, please reach out. I cannot promise it will solve all your problems, but I can promise to make it interesting, rich, and inspirational. If the world feels like too much right now, if your mind has become a hidous raucous of irate apes, please consider joining us. If nothing else, it will be a sacred pause in the mess of a very chaotic moment.

If you are still reading, still curious, click here to signal to the technology gnomes you are okay with receiving more emails from me about SomaScribe. Earlybird pricing ends today, January 17th.

I hope to see you on the proverbial dance floor.

Until then, I remain, your devoted Somanaut, Katie
